A leaf fell next the tree, beware
on the grey ground by.
the air is cold, brisk and fair -
aloft the silence in the sky.
It is autumn – do you sense it now?
In the mountains forest browns
and across the lone, silent place
into the void shriek the crows.
Behold, a day is coming, when you drop
alike on the ground
the air will be still as if everything would stop
the path to sky will be unrenowned.
